ALISO VIEJO, CA (June 26, 2013) – NCSOFT®, the world’s premier publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), today launches Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal, the most sought-after content update in the franchise’s history. Aion, the award-winning fantasy MMO that tops other games with its stunning graphics, fierce PvP and almost unlimited customization, increases the level cap to 65, adds two classes, two expansive zones, 11 instances and a nemesis for players to explore and experience with the release.
“We’ve had players asking about the launch of Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal since last year,” said Richard Zinser, Chief Operating Officer of NCSOFT West. “The number of people coming to our website searching for Aion 4.0 is similar to the traffic we had at Aion’s launch. We’re keeping the fans happy, and Aion 4.0 was at the forefront of their asks.”
Specifically, Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal brings to life the lyrical Songweaver and the smoldering Gunslinger, two new classes which have been the subject of much excitement and speculation.
Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal also brings a new level cap of 65 that challenges veteran players to bring their considerable abilities back to the eternal Elyos/Asmodian conflict. Players can advance to the increased level cap in two new zones: the expansive realm of Katalam and the mystical realm of Danaria. Novel experiences lie in store, including a form of a mini-siege warfare at bases throughout the new zones and special benefits to the conquering faction. The recently uncovered Idian Depths will offer courageous adventurers the opportunity to enter 11 new instances, each with new gear to be won.
The Dragon Lord Beritra is introduced as the new eternal foe in Aion: 4.0 Dark Betrayal. Even Tiamat fell before his might. To attempt to defeat Dragon Lord Beritra, players will need to band together at the new level cap with a supreme mastery of their new skills – including the Gunslinger’s Shock and Awe, The Gladiator’s Severe Precision Cut and the Chanter’s Leaping Flash, to name a few – while leveraging the two new classes and the lessons learned when exploring the two new zones.
