NCsoft and ArenaNet announce the Guardian profession for Guild Wars 2

With fans eagerly awaiting news on Guild Wars 2, NCsoft and ArenaNet announced its Guardian profession today. The Guardian calls upon powerful virtues to smite enemies and protect allies. The Guardian is the definitive support fighter, both offensively and defensively. With a mastery of combat weaponry at his disposal and virtues such as Justice, Courage and Resolve to employ, the Guardian is both a worthy adversary and instrumental ally. The Guardian can also bring his own special skills to aid in the support of his allies and the defeat of his enemies.

A few things to note about the Guardian profession:

• Skill type - Spirit Weapons: As only one of the Guardian's four special skills, Spirit Weapons allow the Guardian to summon spirit weapons that fight by his side to inflict damage on enemies for a limited time.
• Weaponry: Adept with both melee and magical weapons, the Guardian can choose from a series of armaments such as the Mace, Shield or the two-handed Greatsword.
• Virtues: With the ability to tap into virtues such as Justice, Courage and Resolve, the Guardian can extend the effects of these virtues to support the attack or raise the health of his allies.
